About me

Gender Male
Occupation Retired Radio Broadcaster, autoworker and general slave
Location Flint, MI, United States
Introduction To quote Blll Cosby, "I started out as a child" and I think the first one ever with ADHD. I drove my poor parents nuts while tape recording it for later review, decades before Tom Greene ever came up with the idea! I always had a love for music and radio which eventually led me to a job in radio broadcasting back in the late 70's. Back when AM and Boss Jocks with the voice of God ruled the airwaves. By the late 90's, radio was already disintegrating as stations got gobbled up by the hundreds by large companies ran by morons who have never even worked behind the microphone. I bailed in 1998 to slave as an autoworker, which totally beat my body to shit. In 2001 I had a heart attack working on the line, followed by a 5-way bypass. After 6 months off, I was right back there beating myself to death on those miserable jobs of trying to squeeze 54 seconds worth of "elements" into a 48 second cycle. I finally came to my senses and took a buyout in 2008. 99% of the time, I don't regret it. The other one percent of the time, I could kick myself, but I realize I'd likely be dead by now if I stayed.
Interests I collect music on vinyl, restore old radio gear, I have Part 15 both AM and FM radio transmitters, I enjoy fishing and camping with my wife and kids, picking flea markets and yard sales
Favorite Movies I LOVE old B Westerns, especially the old John Wayne ones from the 30's, which usually starred Gabby Hayes and Yakima Cannutt in some role. I also like old-school "gangster" flicks ("COPPERS, EH??"), documentaries and a war movie now and then.
Favorite Music Hands down, Detroit-era Motown. The Funk Brothers were the greatest backing band in history. I also like classic rock and pop and even a side of Frank Sinatra or Ella Fitzgerald or a Frankie Yankovick polka now and then.
Favorite Books I don't do a lot of reading, but I do like Robert Monroe, Wayne Dyer and Sylvia Browne.
