| Introduction | The Chicago Schlager Music Review is the only site in the English speaking world to analyse and showcase Germanic pop music of the schlager genre. The on-line magazine was founded in Chicago, USA, in March of 2011 and since then has profiled and showcased the work of more than 150 schlager performers - principally from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia. Articles have been contributed by correspondents from the UK , Australia and Austria as well as from writers in various regions of the United States. Schlager music is the best selling pop music genre in Germany and other parts of the German-speaking world and in many ways its sentimental and down-to-earth themes resemble American Country and Western music. The Chicago Schlager Music Review publishes new articles every week, interspersed with periodic special articles on breaking schlager music developments.
