| Introduction | TAPAN CHAKRAVARTY is an Architect, Urban Designer and Educator with an experience of over 30 years and has endeavored to strike a balance between industry practice and academic practice. He has presented his thoughts and opinions at several forums across the country. Professionally engaged, since 1984, with a number of firms in Delhi and organizations like UNDP and INTACH; he ran his own architecture practice and worked on several interesting projects including an award-winning national level Urban Design competition. Academically engaged, since 1986, with several well-known Institutes in Delhi-NCR and in various capacities (including HoD & Dean); his academic career covers many aspects of Architecture & Design Education. He has a special interest in Traditional & Vernacular Architecture. He did his Bachelor of Architecture and Masters in Urban Design from School of Planning & Architecture, Delhi; and PG Certificate in Higher Education from Nottingham-Trent University, UK. |
