| Introduction | I am a Texan born and raised but you would never know it unless your heard my accent. Proud to be raised in a Democratic family I have been involved in politics my whole life. The politics of Texas are a constant thorn in my side thanks to the beliefs by our mainly conservative legislatures that we need to protect the rich and shun the poor. I loathe our current governor Rick Perry no doubt due to my passionate liberal ideology and support of public education. I will be campaigning for education until the day I die. My support of gay marriage and pro choice beliefs, to name a few, are not exactly agreed upon by the rest of Texas but that's just fine by me. I am taking this class to further my knowledge of Texas politics in order to eventually teach it in the public schools. I hope to understand better the way certain bills are passed. |
