| Introduction | We have been living on the island of Saipan since August, 2010 and we love the rich history of the island. I explore it every chance that I get. My favorite past time is what we call "boonie stompin". My friend Bob and I make contacts throughout the island and find good leads on downed aircraft, military vehicles, guns, WWII Japanese gun positions, caves, relics, etc. We then seek to obtain permission from land owners to search for these artifacts left during one of the most horrific island battles of WWII. We hack and chop our way through thick jungle and razor sharp rocks, stepping over unexploded ordinance and the ramains of many of the defenders of this island.
