| Introduction | A Native of Ohio, Dan Newland has lived and worked in South America since 1973. He worked as a free-lance journalist and translator in Buenos Aires for 20 years. During that time he was also a reporter, editor and commentator for the award-winning English-language daily, the Buenos Aires Herald and Special Projects Editor for the Argentine business magazine, Apertura. In 1993, he founded an Internet-based uni-personal Spanish-English translating and free-lance writing service based in Patagonia. In his three decades of translating, Newland has clocked, literally, millions of words for the most diverse of clients, from literary and news publishers to a broad range of industrial and professional firms in the United States, Europe and South America. |
