| Introduction | Robert Fertitta is the author and host of this blog. I am a music educator, performer and stained glass photographer. After 30 years in college teaching, choir directing and organ/piano performance, I am dedicated to putting to good use my experiences in the classroom and on stage. I am also dedicated to the notion that mediocrity and superficiality have no place in music or in any art. My musical schedule consists of recitals, lectures, reviews and adjudication of competitions. My photographic work centers around stained glass, and is featured on the websites of many churches. I am happy to share my insights and hope that others will share theirs with me. Nadia Boulanger, with whom I studied in the early 1970's, said: ‘What is done without joy is ZERO’. Surely any sensible person would have to agree with her for the simple reason that music and art exist to bring joy to the world. |
