Introduction Ever think of moving abroad? Join me on my journey as an expatriate through my blog: www.An-American-in-Malta.com--and also through my book The Diary of an American Expatriate. Please visit my EFL blog www.Chocolate English.eu.
Interests At the age of 55, I left the US (and two grown daughters) because of losing my job and my subsequent escalating health insurance premiums. I made my way to Malta (south of Sicily) with my cat, a German man I met on the Web six years earlier and plans to continue writing and to teach English as a Foreign Language. I did it--but it's been very hard, often crazy. I wrote a book that got published by AUK in London. It's called The Diary of an American Expatriate . I need it to become a bestseller so that I can visit my daughters more often in the US. BTW, on of my main interests is ancient Egypt. Although I believe I lived there in a former life, I'm trying to focus on and get through the present one.
Favorite Movies Gone with the Wind, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, The Horse Whisperer, Little Miss Sunshine, The King's Speech--and lots more. I love movies.
Favorite Music All Broadway Musicals--The King and I, Camelot, West Side Story, Oklahoma, Carousel, Peter Pan. Also love the late Whitney Houston and the "old" days of The Beatles.
Favorite Books Sherlock Holmes--all 60 stories and novels, Shogun and the rest of the series, everything by James Michener, Bridgette Jones's Diary

You've written a hit musical! How will you avoid having fame go to your head?

First, let it happen and then I'll decide. I have enough going on in my head (including panic attacks and obsessive thoughts) that I don't think there would be room for fame to get in there.
