| Introduction | Flagstaff-Oaxaca Support was founded in November 2006 in Flagstaff, Ariz. The group works to educate Flagstaff residents on the popular resistance movement in Oaxaca, Mexico. We also organize fundraisers to support the APPO and CIPO-RFM social organizations in Oaxaca, Mexico. The Oaxacan movement, composed of striking teachers, union activists, regional indigenous peoples, anarchists, angry citizens, etc., has been engaged in a heated and violent confrontation with the Mexican Federal Police, Military, and paramilitary groups, particularly since June 2006, when APPO and supporters took over la Cuidad Oaxaca. The Federales have recently retaken the city, and many activists and community members have been shot and/or disappeared by the Federales and their paramilitary henchmen.
