| Introduction | I'm a 36-year-old gal from the Midwest. Born and raised in Milwaukee, I have traveled throughtout the country but have always called Brew City "home." I am a full-time volunteer, board member and Marketing Communications chair for Arthritis Introspective, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of those living with arthritis in the prime of life. Diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA) at the age of 7, I have grown up knowing both the physical and emotional challenges of life with a chronic, painful disease as well as the stigma of disability. While the disease does not define me, it has helped shape who I am and I am thankful for many of the lessons I have learned because of it. I have an English degree from UW-Milwaukee and have worked as both a magazine writer/editor and a non-profit fundraiser/event coordinator. I am the proud and devoted auntie to two beautiful children H & D and the crazy and devoted mother to one spoiled cat, Maya Antionette Skywalker. I am also a Jedi and believe in the Power of the Force. |
