| Introduction | I am a reformed lawyer, a former civil engineer, a married father of 3 young hockey players, an author, a current Professor at Hofstra University, and a HUGE Islanders fan. I, like many, was turned onto this great sport by both the success of the 1980's Dynasty team and the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" Olympic team. I was 12 years old when I sat in my living room and watched the US team's miraculous win over the Ruskies. I ran out and got a pair of skates, gloves & a stick and joined neighborhood pick-up games. Now I get to share my passion for the sport with my 3 hockey-playing sons who also just happen to be Islander fans. This blog is my narcissistic way of sharing my game-day experience, my views, and opinions with all who are kind enough to stop on my site.
