| Favorite movies | Beautiful cinematography gets me every time. Out of Africa might still be my favorite, colonial discourse and all. I'd love to hear recommendations for other beautiful movies. And ovies with songs you can't get out of your head... like Mamma Mia and Music & Lyrics. I'm a little horrified that I admitted that last one. |

| Favorite books | Natalie Goldberg's Long Quiet Highway. Marlena De Blasi's trilogy on moving to Italy. Frances Mayes. I like travel narratives and memoirs by women. Recently enjoyed Pam Houston's stories in Cowboys Are My Weakness. Love Gary Ferguson. Study with him if you can; he's a wonderful man and a brilliant writer. |
