| Introduction | There are plenty of fantasy baseball writers out there. Some are good for lists of useful information – Who could be the next closer on this team, how do you rank all the second basemen, etc? Some are concerned with ranking all the prospects in the minors and some want to point out the underrated starting pitchers. And some want to entertain you. Here at Baseball Faceoff we’re interested in strategies, lists with a twist, and a growing readership, not necessarily in that order. We want to be informative, thought-provoking, and maybe a bit meta-, when the situation allows. If we can bring those things to our fantasy baseball discussions, we’ll consider that, to paraphrase Jim Valvano, a full day. The point is that Joe and I want to be the place that fantasy baseball players go when they want to explore how to think about playing the game. Rather than providing rankings per se, we provide a framework so that you can make your own rankings better. There are lots of people who play fantasy baseball as if every league is the same. That’s just not right, and will not be endorsed by Joe and Chris. Please enjoy, and email us with comments at baseballfaceoff@gmail.com. |
