| Introduction | I am 31 year-old single woman. One evening, a college friend and I were discussing our lackluster personal lives--an all too common topic for us--when we concluded that we were suffering from a dating culture plagued by low expectations. Like so many women out there, my friends and I have managed our education, our careers and our finances with great acuity. However, we are novices at managing our love lives. Some of us have never had sex or a bona fide boyfriend and yet we are quite normal. To see us on the street, you'd never know we weren't regular girls about town. So after much reflection and a lot of lengthy phone calls, we've decided to take our mission global and encourage women to raise their expectations for men and their own behavior. We've decided to rage against women's all too common "good enough" mentality. We deserve more and we can have more if we're bold enough to articulate our expectations and are courageous enough to walk away from people who fail to meet them and accept and respect those who do. Together, we can do this and be fab gals united in our quest for true love. |
