About me

Location Brescia, Italy
Introduction Tina was born in the UK and has been living in Italy for over thirty years. We live in a small village, where Andrea was born, at 1000m a.s.l. in the Alps with less than 80 inhabitants all year, more in the summer. Andrea paints, mostly songbirds, on birch bark or wood. We try to reduce our impact on the environment and have solar thermic and photovoltaic panels on the roof. During the winter we cut wood for the wood-burner, although we also use pellets. During the summer we grow our own fruit and vegetables, enough, with the help of three freezers, to last us all year round. In our free time in summer we collect bilberries, go looking for mushrooms, go hiking in the mountains and enjoy staying at our ‘baita’ to relax and eat and drink with friends or alone. We’re not so keen on the winter, the cold and the snow and the ice. The television was banished to the outhouse about 16 years ago and has never returned, we spend a lot of time on the Internet, in particular lately to plan our trips. We tend to be cautious about spending money, enjoy the charity shops when in Britain and are both delighted by a bargain!
