| Introduction | Dave grew up on the Oregon Coast and earned a B.Sc. in Agriculture at OSU. He operated the family cattle ranch until returning to college, finishing another bachelor's degree in Science Education with a minor in Art. Dave taught at the high school level for 15 years in the U.S., Micronesia, Samoa and Colombia. In 1972 he left education and began building houses, a trade he had learned from his father. He built homes in Oregon, California, Washington and Texas. In 1982 Dave began studying shamanism with Michael Harner at Esalen. He went on to complete the advanced three year program with Harner, as well as studying with other practitioners. He is a certified shamanic counselor and has been working in shamanic circles for over 25 years. Dave lives with his wife on Marrowstone Island, WA. He has three children and three grandchildren. |
