| Introduction | HL's first games were played in the late '80s on Lampton and Heston Parks. The team evolved within the Leisure Services Dept of LBH, initially with games v other departments, before the fixture card grew to what it is now. Veteran founder Rob Nixon mentions the very first games being played as East Twickenham Labour Party. Unfortunately we only have scorecards from 1992, when we first played Harrow, Old Cals, Wandsworth and Feltham Garrison. Home was Boston Manor Park for many years up until 2001, witnessing the construction of the GSK building as we played. At the 2003 AGM, we dropped the 'Services' to become Hounslow Leisure CC. Old Lats was home from '02 to '04. Since 2005, home has been Spelthorne Sports Club. We manage the occasional Saturday game, and have travelled to Monmouth, Hatfield Heath and (historic) Hambledon. From 1992 to 2019 we have played at least 415 games. Many of us also play for Sunday friendly team Magdalen CC who were established in Mortlake in 1944. We like to compete, but games are played in the true spirit of cricket. If your team fancies playing the mighty Hounslow Leisure, then get in touch. |
