Introduction I work for Sustain;the alliance for better food and farming, and have been I working on the project Capital Growth which is aiming to help create 2012 new community food growing spaces in London by 2012. I work there part time to give support to new community food spaces across the capital. www.capitalgrowth.org I have previously completed an apprenticeship with growing communities, where I learned to run an organic market garden. With another apprentice, Sophie, we created a new growing site at the Castle Climbing Centre and have been growing mixed organic salads to sell through their box scheme in Hackney. In the first season we sold mainly to some restaruants on Stoke Newington Church Street. www.growingcommunities.org in Hackney. I am also co-ordinating the Castle's Climbing Centre's garden project, and have been creating an organic and wildlife friendly food garden with the help of volunteers. If you would like to get involved, learn to grow, create a garden, or just get your hands dirty, please email me. ida@castle-climbing.co.uk
