I strongly believe that as Americans rely more and more on prepackaged/precooked/processed food, we've lost an important part of our heritage. We use powdered potatoes, and premade rolls. We've lost the art and enjoyment (not to mention health benefits) that can come from a home cooked meal made from scratch. I'm a big believer that the food we cook for ourselves lasts for a meal, but the food we cook for others lasts for a lifetime.
