| Introduction | I love being a children's book author. When I'm not writing or drawing (or paddling around), I am busy enjoying my grandchildren. I'm so lucky to spend my time with these two amazing boys. I also love animals, nature, books... and a good strong cup of English tea. |

| Favorite music | Loreena McKennitt is a wonder. Most classical music and some opera––especially Carmen (of course)! |
| Favorite books | Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and recently, The Boys in the Boat, The Summer Before the War, and almost anything by Wendell Berry. For children: Because of Winn Dixie, The Magician's Elephant, Catherine Called Birdy, From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, The Education of Little Tree, and many more. |
