| Introduction | So as you may have guessed, my name is Derek Allen. I was born in 1987 making me almost 26 years old! I grew up in Grantsville, Utah, where I learned to not only love my family, but the gospel as well. I was able and honored to serve a mission to the beautiful people of Guatemala, during the which I not only fell in love with them, but came to know the Lord so deeply that my life is now forever changed. On April 13, 2013, I married my absolute dream girl and very best friend, Nikki Monnett Allen. As of today's date, we have only been married two weeks and two days, but I look forward to spending not only this life, but all eternity with her. As we commence this life-long journey, I hope to keep a journal of what we learn in the school of hard-knocks for the benefit of not only ourselves, but for all those seeking support and strength. |
