| Introduction | As if to demonstrate to me that God has a plan for everyone, He took me from a life I barely recall and placed me in a new one. I'm now a 38-year-old man with a beautiful wife, three cool and scarily intelligent stepchildren, and an actual real job writing. I also get to indulge my passion for music by dealing in vintage vinyl online and writing a column for Playlist, a local arts monthly. Life goes where it goes. |

In no particular order: Beatles, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Hold Steady, Drive By Truckers, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, the Clash, Rolling Stones, Charles Mingus, Al Green, Thelonious Monk, XTC, Bruce Springsteen, Neko Case, Cat Power, and probably about a hundred other artists with whom I've been obsessed for varying amounts of time. |
| Favorite books | A Confederacy of Dunces, Fortress of Solitude, Last Train to Memphis/Careless Love, High Fidelity... uh - just so you know - I'm really working on being more "well-read." I was an English minor, but I mostly took linguistics courses. |
