| Introduction | Having had RSD for many years, I have written a book about my life with it; partly, to help other RSD sufferers along with their loved ones and, partly, to help raise public awareness of RSD, which is classified as a rare disease. It is also referred to as "an invisible disease" because you can't see it. Though some symptoms are visible (like swelling and discoloration), many other symptoms are not, which can equate to disbelief among family, friends and physicians. People with RSD usually go from doctor to doctor for years before being diagnosed because not enough is known about the disease...and that needs to change. |
