About me

Gender Female
Industry Non-Profit
Occupation Volunteer in Emergency Services
Location Asheville, NC, United States
Introduction I retired early after working for the Department of Defense overseas, living in the Orient and traveling throughout the world. Now I devote much of my time to volunteering, as my blog indicates. I have had many amazing opportunities in my lifetime; now is my chance to give back to my community by volunteering and by mentoring others. The fascinating thing is that the more that I give to others, the more serene and happy I am. I feel that I actually get more than I give when I help others...definitely a win-win situation!

Which is more important to you and why: flexibility or expandability?

Flexibility is the key to appropriate adaptation in life. Facts that you learn in school are far less important than the process of socialization, and the opportunity to learn how to learn...that will lead ultimately to becoming a self-actualized adult. So many changes are required of individuals within a lifetime that flexibility is essential.
