| Introduction | I was born and raised in suburbia Connecticut. I deem it "suburbia CT" because we are smack in the middle of NYC and Boston; both are a short 1-2 hour drive away. I always thought that I'd go to NYU or Boston College (I thought I'd grow to be a biochemist!) but I've learned that I love being in between the 2 cities. I started writing at 14. I remember sitting down at the kitchen table on summer vacations with the fan whirring above my head and the stagnant air pressing up against the windows. All was sticky from the moisture in the air and the sweat beading off of my skin. I pushed out 2 murder mysteries in 1 summer. It was the greatest accomplished feeling that I can remember! I drew up the cover illustrations using construction paper, and glued and taped the books together so that I could hold them in my hands like "a real book." Now that I have THREE "real books" under my belt, they don't top the feeling I had the day I finished printing the final pages of my murder mysteries. Maybe it was the innocence of it all that added to its majesty. I am very proud of my books. I sometimes feel as if I truly know my characters. I don't care if it sounds crazy, it's just me. |
