Introduction I started teaching elementary music in 1985 immediately after graduating from Penn State University with a BS in Music Education. Since then I've mostly continued as a music teacher, but my life has taken a few turns here and there, not the least of which was becoming a published author of educational music for children. The downside of that part is I kind of got pigeon-holed as "a recorder guru." While it is true that most of my publications have to do with the recorder, I am not a one-trick pony and recorder education is such a small part of what I actually do in my career. If anyone is interested in that whole vein, send me an email and I'll try to point you to what you're looking for as far as books, musicals, octavos, etc. That being said, this blog is for people of all levels of experience. An art teacher friend attended a seminar with Maurice Sendak and he said, "A good artist always steals..." So do good music teachers. I hope you find some useful stuff on here!
