Introduction | I was born in a small town in Northeastern Pennsylvania, notable for the abundance of anthracite coal. I was born just as the industry died, and the life force of the region with it. Growing up in a depressed area, I developed all the small town hang ups that small town people from depressed areas get. While I do love the area, I hate returning. It's painful, it really is. I spent the early part of my life studying science, and then education, at several colleges, all of which became universities after I graduated. I don't think I had anything to do with that, but I am always hopeful. I have extremely liberal views, and care very much for environmental issues. I have a soft spot for science and education. Currently, I work in educational technology, specializing in online learning, but still stay interested and involved in science and science education. I am a geek by nature and very comfortable being one. I am extremely shy and reserved upon first meeting, and have a tendency to listen more than speak. I suspect blogging will not come naturally to me and I am a little hesitant to even take on this challenge. However, I think it might be somewhat therapeutic. We'll see... |

No, just being practical. And I never hesitate. I hit it automatically!
