Introduction	I must admit that as a young girl I would accompany my mother to thrift stores and garage sales but, instead of looking for second hand Barbies to play with, I was thrilled at finding old National Geographic Magazines. Since then, exploring our world's cultures has been one of my greatest passions. Interestingly, today's global economy has blurred many of our cultural borders and made many of our products and practices more accessible. One can argue that this has created a dichotomy: both a catalyst for more widespread appreciation and at the same time a dilution of its authenticity; what was once rare and artfully crafted is now abundant and mass produced. But one undeniable truth is that, as cultures are evolving, adapting, and thriving, the opportunity to explore them has never been greater, and this is especially true for Mexican and Latino cultures on this side of the border.
