As playwright George Bernard Shaw famously pointed out, it's the unreasonable people who change the world. It's the difficult, querulous, cranky and cantankerous who care passionately enough about things to question and make the world think differently. He said, in Maxims for Revolutionists: 'The reasonable man adapts himself to the world. The unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.' |
