| Introduction | Brooke’s Point was named after the British army explorer Sir James Brooke, who served as the governor of Sarawak, in Borneo in the 1830s. In one of his voyages, he landed on the tip of what is now Brooke’s Point, then inhabited by native Palaweños who were once ruled by the Sultan of Sulu. The Municipality of Brooke’s Point was created by virtue of Executive Order No. 232 dated June 28, 1949. |
