Introduction 6/20/18 Gee, this blog turned seven at the end of March, so it's time to do another update here. Starting with a brand new up-to-date profile pic. (Only had to take a bazillion to get one that doesn't look entirely like a horse's patootie... must be something wrong with that darned camera.) I may be seven years older than when this blog started, but I'm still as much of a pathological optimist as I've ever been. It's been five years since "Hot Flashes and Cold Lemonade" was published, and now it has a baby brother. In May, my second novel, "Explosive Beginnings," was finally born. It's the first book of a planned trilogy, so there's still a lot more writing to do. Whether I finish this trilogy and some other books still brewing in my brain before I'm pushing up daisies remains to be seen. If not, no problem. Life is good, and I still plan on enjoying every daisy I encounter while I'm still here. I have a weird sense of humor, a fantastic family, a baker's dozen grandchildren, and two spoiled cats. Life is good. And the best thing about blogging? You guys. Thanks so much for letting me share the blogosphere with you. It's been a blast.
Interests amateur radio, artsy-craftsy stuff, reading, writing, NY Times Sunday crossword puzzles, challenging sudoku puzzles, games especially word games and trivia, card games from pinochle to poker, bowling, shooting pool
Favorite Movies The Quiet Man, McClintock, Funny Girl, Father Goose, Houseboat, I.Q., Friendly Persuasion, Diggstown, and a million more old classics, musical comedies, cheesy romances, and wild action flicks
Favorite Music Everything from classical and opera to show tunes, folk music, and rock and roll. Peter Paul and Mary, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, the Doors, Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Pavoratti. Pretty much anything but rap.
Favorite Books Way too many to enumerate, but "A Prayer for Owen Meany" by John Irving is ONE of my favorites. I'm a huge fan of many authors, and it's a miracle I ever find time to do anything else but read.

What would you name your ballet inspired by the sight of children leaping through a garden sprinkler?
