| Interests | I love traditional bluegrass music and I love teaching others so that they can enjoy it as much as I do. My motto is "Changing peoples lives one Bluegrass song at a time." I play 6 instruments, fiddle, guitar, upright bass, mandolin, banjo, and piano. I don't read music except a tiny bit of the right hand of piano, just enough to get a feel for where the song is taking me, and then I play it by ear. I also enjoy photography and especially portrait work of musicians and my grand kids. I also love to do artwork too but my total passion is my bluegrass music and playing in my bands, then secondly teaching it to kids and people who want to learn it too. |
| Favorite movies | All bluegrass documentary movies. I really love the one called "High Lonesome" (the history of bluegrass music), but I also love all the different bluegrass documentaries that have been made. Other than those I love old Westerns, and old movies with Lucille Ball, Doris Day, and the old Disney movies from when I was a kid. |
| Favorite music | Traditional Bluegrass all the way. |
| Favorite books | Any and all Bluegrass biographies from first generation bluegrass musicians. I also love biographies of the presidents of our church. I especially enjoyed Ralph Stanley's, and Bill Monroe's biographies. Ralph's was an autobiography told in his own words which has been my favorite book to read so far. |
