Introduction | I have spent all of my adult life caring about, teaching, raising and simply being with children. I am passionate about creating healthy habits to create a healthy family. I have tried to find balance with the media barrage on my own family and have tweaked and changed our habits as my kids have grown. I value creativity and allowing children to explore all of their passions through many different mediums. I give parent education talks throughout the country and my main topics over the last few years are "Turning off the TV turning on the Creativity", "Creating Healthy Traditions in a Fast Paced Culture", "Enhancing Sibling Relationships" and many more. I created Tiny Treks 12 years ago as an answer to many parents asking me for an alternative, exciting, healthy opportunity for their family on a weekly basis. I am the lucky mother of 4 incredible children and have a wonderful husband of 23 years. |
Interests | I am a seeker of sunshine and will spend as much time outdoors as possible to find that yellow ball in the sky. I hike, bike, swim and attempt to run in the warm weather. In the cold I pray for snow, so I can cross country ski and if the snow is not there I try to bundle up and walk my boyfriend Cooper - the most adoring male mutt I have ever had in my life. I am an avid reader and have been known to love a book and its message so much I have bought copies to hand out to friends, coaches, teachers, even a high school principal. |
Favorite Music | My most listened to music is Counting Crows. I also love The Who, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen and pretty much any classic rock. |
Favorite Books | My favorite two non fiction books at the momement are The Last Lecture and Seasons of Life. I just finished the fiction book The Help and absolutely loved it. I fell in love with two of the characters. |
