| Introduction | I was nineteen when I was diagnosed with a genetic heart condition called dilated cardiomyopathy and was later implanted with an ICD. An ICD is a metal box that is inserted under the skin and acts as a defibrillator and a pacemaker. In this blog I hope to raise awareness of the disease by sharing some of my stories, thoughts and experiences I've had as a young person living with cardiomyopathy and an ICD. |
