| Introduction | This blog is a literary snapshot in time; a representation of someone I once was, but am no longer. My name is Wade, and this blog was my voice, breaking through the silence of shame and shattering the expectations of my world and culture. It spans the vast majority of time I spent fully active in my chosen religion while grappling with my sexuality, childhood traumas, social injustices, mental illness, and hereditary neurodevelopmental disorders. It tells the story of how those challenges clashed with my faith, and why my deeply-held beliefs brought me peace and hope in some of my darkest hours. These words are mine, but they are no longer my truth; just a reflection of something no longer hoped for. |
