About me

IntroductionBorn on the same block as Russell Simmons in the steamy-hot summer of 1982, Frank Leon Roberts spent his childhood in the ghetto of Hollis, Queens reading, writing, and playing freeze-tag. After brief stints in Cali and NJ, homeboy found himself studying with the "earthy" bookworms of NYU’s Gallatin School (before the Olsen twins got there) where he snatched up bachelors degrees in English and African American Studies. Lured by Berkeley, but scared to leave New York, homeboy stayed in the village and got another degree—this time a Masters—with the artsy black kids at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Nowadays he’s a PhD candidate by day and club kid by night. You mighta seen him or heard about him on MTV, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Ricky Lake Show or the Encyclopedia of African American History and Culture (Oxford University Press). After all, he is your Baby’s Daddy (what, you didn’t know?). Email him today at frankroberts@nyu.edu or visit canwebefrank.com (coming fall 2007).
