Introduction I am hitting some sort of mid life epiphany (almost 40!). I realize that I have been living in a bubble and I am trying to come out of it a little bit. I work in a major urban hospital full-time and my husband is a stay at home dad to our two wonderful children (Daniel age 6 and Amelia age 4). I absolutely love my life and all the richness of it and look forward to learning new things, meeting new people and taking new adventures.
Interests creating all sorts of fun, inspitring ideas, cooking, playing with my kids, running, snuggling my family, reading, writing, learning new things, meditating, creating all mannor of art, exploring nature, looking for God everywhere in everything, making stuff up, being in awe, wasting time, being grateful, yearning for more.
Favorite Movies Anything by Monty Python, Harold and Maude, reccently saw "Death at a Funeral" that was fun. I have to say when I was younger I went for the broody, self indulgent, dark, deep thinking type of movies. Now that I am a mom, I like to have fun watching movies. Not so deep. I like independent films - as long as they are not too self-indulgent. Love to watch nature and science documentaries with my kids. Of course I got to make some noise for My Little Ponies and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Favorite Music I tend to like just about everything. My Mp3 has Spearhead, Krishna Das, Ricki Byers-Beckwith, Dixie Chicks, and a bunch of other eclectic stuff (folk, opera, punk, rap, classical, world, etc.). I love Butterscotch, Citizen Fish, old AC/DC, and anything that has got depth and soul - not a big fan of pop music
Favorite Books Dr. Suess, Jack Kanfield, John Gottman, - I like a lot of books: metaphysical, buddhist, parenting, relationship, kids books, health, fiction - I just realized writing out a list is an exercise that sends my ego into the space where I think I have to appear impressive and intelectual -of which I generally try to be neither. I do like to read though.
