OccupationScientific Officer for British Geological Survey
LocationRipley, Derbyshire, United Kingdom
IntroductionI'm a Derbyshire born lad, brought up in Ripley, schooled in Ripley, trained at Luton University, and eventually set free on the world at the now (unfortunately) disbanded Laskarina Holidays. After 4 years becoming brilliant with computers, I found the British Geological Survey and finally my university training was realised! My job means I get to design and build 3D geological models, play with maps all day long and when I'm not doing that I get to go into fields and drill boreholes. It's the best job in the world! When I'm not working I spend as much time with my son, Jordan, as is possible. He is of course equally interested in nature!
InterestsBirds, butterflies, dragonflies, geology, visiting zoos and collections with my son, booze, drilling boreholes, playing with clever computer technology
Favorite moviesAnything that is either stupidly funny (Carey/Stiller/Sandler), or completely soppy and romantic (Notting Hill, Four Weddings,500 Days of Summer). Read into that what you will!
Favorite musicCurrently Florence and the Machine, Bruno Mars (mildly influenced by my son). The Cure and any 90's indie bands remain firm favourites though.
Favorite booksTerry Pratchet, Adrian Mole's Cappucino Years...funny!
