| Introduction | I am a mixed media artist living in Kansas City with my artist husband. I received my BA from Elms College in MA. Initially a painter, I studied metals in Phoenix, AZ and at the Penland School of Craft in NC. I have always made small sculptures from found objects, even as a child, so I have a soft spot for random objects and collecting them. When I found encaustic, it just took over the studio and I have been painting again since 2002. I still make small random sculptures but mostly I draw & paint. I love the way the wax works and the results I am able to coax from it. Since early 2009 I have been exploring the quietness of drawing. |
