| Introduction | I grew up on kippered herring and salmon, but 20 years ago I ate my last bite of salmon and became vegetarian. Being vegetarian in San Francisco is easy; being a vegetarian traveling 200K miles a year worldwide is not. In Paris, years ago I got chewed out for asking for a veg meal at a two-star restaurant. In Taipei, pork was a "vegetable". Fortunately, Gagnaire, Passard, Trotter have opened eyes to good veg food, and there's never been a better time to be a vegetarian. |
