Do you believe that forks are evolved from spoons?
Some would probably argue that this is the case, and point to the existence of so-called "sporks" as the missing link. I would argue that they were separate entities that both evolved from a more simple device, the "stick", to serve separate purposes. The "spork" merely came into existence as convergent needs and dwindling resources caused the fork and spoon to mate.
