Introduction Cox & Kings is the longest established travel company in the world, its history stretching back to 1758 when Richard Cox was appointed as regimental agent to the Foot Guards in India. Cox & Co.'s business grew throughout the Raj era and by the early twentieth century the company was acting as agent and banker throughout the armed forces. In 1922 the company merged with the Henry S. King bank and, although the banking business was sold the following year, the Pall Mall building was opened as the Cox & Kings branch - as the Lloyds Bank branch is still known today. Cox & Kings continued to flourish after Indian independence in 1947 and today it thrives as an independent tour company. The company has built on the tradition of high quality service established by Richard Cox over 240 years ago and it now provides travel arrangements of the highest calibre in some of the most challenging parts of the world. Today there are specialist Cox & Kings brochures to the Indian Subcontinent, Latin America, the Middle East & Central Asia, Africa & The Indian Ocean and China & the Far East; Eastern Europe; as well as a selection of special interest programmes.
