| Introduction | I call myself a Zen-Christian. I was ordained into the Tiep Hien Buddhist Order in the early 1990s and continue in the daily practice of meditation in that tradition. But once upon a time, I was also ordained into the Christian ministry as pastor of a small church in central Louisiana. I’m no longer active in any Christian church, but still consider myself as much Christian as Buddhist. My perspective is shaped by five years of training in religion and theology, 34 years of training and experience as a psychotherapist (Licensed Clinical Social Worker, now retired), and by a third career of seven years in information management (Microsoft-Certified SQL Specialist). [For those who are mathematically challenged, this means I am old.
