| Introduction | Dr. Ticho combines in-depth understanding of ocular anatomy with skill and over 25 years of experience in delivering surgical care to patients suffering from strabismus, cataracts, glaucoma, ptosis, dermatochalasis, and tear duct obstructions. His nonsurgical expertise includes the treatment of refractive problems, amblyopia, ocular infections, diabetic retinopathy, and retinopathy of prematurity. He is particularly interested in eye treatment for patients with genetic abnormalities, Down syndrome, autism, educational issues, and other sorts of special needs. Ben Ticho earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan. He subsequently completed an integrated surgical-medical internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, followed by an ophthalmology residency at The University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. Following his residency, Dr. Ticho pursued fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology at Chicago's Children's Memorial Hospital and adult strabismus at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. He worked as an Instructor and Associate Professor at Lurie Children's Hospital for nearly 20 years. |
