| Introduction | As a student in the Teacher Certification program at the University of Texas at Dallas, it is time to make the leap from quality instruction to practical application as a student teacher. This fall, I will embark on the final stage of the teaching certification process as I enter the classroom. Though my professors and mentors have trained me well, I have the same moments of concern, self-doubt, and anxiety as others who face this step along the educator’s journey. I also carry the same senses of excitement, idealism, and enthusiasm for learning that exemplify the teaching profession. It is the goal of this blog to honestly and openly discuss the challenges and accomplishments that characterize the path toward becoming a successful new teacher. My identity is anonymous so that the experience is the focus instead of my individual life.
