IntroductionI am a National Board Certified Teacher in EA/Science. I earned my original certification in 2001 and in 2011 I earned my recertification. It's been quite a journey since I started as a Remedial Reading teacher in 1977 in Waynesville, MO. I subbed for a while in Beverly, MA. I taught Remedial Reading and Math in Charlesont, SC in 1981 and 3rd grade in 1982. Along the way I taught for City Colleges of Chicago and Florida Junior College and the classes were held on Mayport Naval Station. I taught GED Reading/English for Jacksonville Job Corps when it was on Pearl St. I also taught High School Completion Reading, Grammar and Composition, and Library Skills for Florida Community College of Jacksonville. I began teaching for DCPS in 1984 at R. V. Daniels 6th Grade Center where I taught everything except Social Studies. I mainly taught science when we worked in teams. I stayed at R.V.D. when it became a primary center with a magnet. I taught 2nd grade (all subjects) to our neighborhood children. In 1992 I transferred to James Weldon Johnson where I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science along with Reading and Research classes. I came to JLCP in 2008.
