| Introduction | My name is Erika. I'm a wife and a mother to two wonderful kids. Financially we are a family that is barely getting by, but I'm determined that just because we are broke, that doesn't mean that life has to feel like a terrible burden. So, I started blogging about ways we save money, recipes, DIY projects and other things that enter into my day to day life. I figure if people read my story that perhaps they can find inspiration to live their lives more fully, even if they don't have physical money to do it. |

| Favorite movies | The Whole Wide World, Das Boot, Anything MST3K (seriously), Rifftrax (especially the Shorts collections), Phantasm series, others. I also love the PBS series "The 1940's House". |
| Favorite music | Personal favorite singer is Frank Sinatra right now, followed by such greats as Hoagy Carmichael, Dean Martin, etc. I also like Rob Thomas and a couple other more "modern" bands, and finish off my musical tastes with classical music. |
| Favorite books | Alton Brown (Good Eats is probably my favorite TV show of all time...yeesss I am a nerd). Any books on cooking or baking that took place during the days of rationing. Sewing books. Cookbooks period. |
