| Introduction | Hi my name is Debbie and I live by the sea. I am a maker who works with textiles and mixed media mainly through the medium of weave. I am interested in creating pattern and texture through the tactile elements of different yarns and fabrics. I mainly use muted colours and my work is heavily influenced by the environment surrounding me. I use driftwood and other found objects from beach combing in many of my weavings, working intuitively or from photographs. I usually work on a small scale with predominately natural fabrics and yarns, cottons, silks and nettle. Recently I have been experimenting with different elements in my weaving to a create a more three-dimensional effect and look forward to developing this work. I am also experimenting with natural dyeing and eco printing on textiles and paper. All images shown on this site are copyright. Please respect this.
