| Introduction | Welcome to The Sandwich Woman: The Heart Of The Sandwich Generation Blog. For the last several years, I have been a caregiver for the elders in my life and continue to be to this day. I'm also a mother of four adult children whom I love dearly and am close to. I will be sharing my experiences with you and hope that you will be inspired and enlightened when caring for your loved ones. I encourage you to share your ideas and insight by commenting after each blog so we can learn from you too. If I would have had a place to visit like this over the years, I believe it would have helped me get through the emotional journey more easily. I hope that you experience this community as a valuable place to visit often. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your life! Sincerely, Carole Brecht |
| Interests | Jan Steinle is my sister. Her artistry on this blog is inspired by Zentangle®, an art form that serves as a beautiful metaphor for the complex and multi-layered Sandwich Woman of today. Zentangle® Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. Jan will be joining the founders in Providence, RI this April to become a Certified Zentangle Teacher, and will be offering classes in the Pittsburgh area later this year. I'll be positing her artwork regularly. I hope you find her images as interesting and beautiful as I! |
