| Introduction | Nikki Darling-Kuria has over 13 years of experience in the field of early care and education. Since 1996 Nikki has provided nationally accredited family child care in Maryland and West Virginia. She won the 2005 Early Childhood Today Professional of the Year Award, has authored numerous articles in early childhood education publications and contributed as a community columnist for local newspapers. Her latest book titled “Brain-based Early Learning Activities: Connecting Theory and Practice” is being published by Redleaf Press in March of 2010. Additionally Nikki is an adjunct professor at Frederick Community College in Maryland and develops curriculum for early care and education workshops on the local, state, and national level. Nikki also serves as the Communication Chair for the National Association for Family Child Care and is currently earning her Master’s Degree in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College. |
